The melody line is deliberately not left to to the first violin only. The successively difficult pieces include beginning parts for violin/viola and cello/string bass which can be supplemented as needed. The piano part is intended for more advanced players and can also be used in rehearsal or left out. Rhythmic patterns make it easy to include percussion instruments; chord symbols can be performed by guitarists and/or related plucked instruments.
