Three male singers whose extraordinarily rich voices left us a legacy of great songs impeccably performed. Billy Eckstine began as a band singer, performing with Earl Hines from 1939 to 1943. He led his own band from 1944 to 1947, utilizing every up-and-coming jazz player at the time, including Dizzy, Miiles, Dexter, with singers Lena Horne and Sarah Vaughn. His signature songs are all in this collection: Cottage for Sale; I Apologize; Tenderly;Everything I Have is Yours, If You Could See Me Now. Tommy Edwards, another male singer of great skill and reputation, is represnted by his chart-topping hits: It's All In The Game, Please Mr.Sun; A Fool Such As I, I Really Don't Want To Know and Morning Side of the Mountain. To round out these superb male vocalists, we've added Joe Williams, who sang with Count Basie. His songs include Alright, Okay, You Win; Every Day I Have The Blues; Evil Man's Blues; One More For My Baby and Loneliness, Sorrow and Grief.
