From 'Grouse Creek Symphony'. Composed by Gary Gackstatter. Score and parts. Duration 4:55. Published by C. Alan Publications (CN.18050).Extracted from Gackstatter's larger work, "Grouse Creek Symphony," The Water opens with a lush chorale in the woodwinds. A peaceful, rolling 6/8 follows conjuring up images of a running stream.
I have written many works that combine various arts (in many forms) with music: literature, silent cartoons, children's books, masks, and photography. "The Water" is part of 'Grouse Creek Symphony' (originally composed for full orchestra), which is based on the artwork of landscape artist Mark Flickinger, who finds his inspiration in the Flint Hills of Kansas. - Gary Gackstatter.
