Scriabin The Complete Preludes and Etudes
I just received this. My initial impression is this publican from Dover is excellent. The binding, paper, and spacing are perfect. The book was manufactured in 2019. The transcription seems top notch as it was taken from the music publishing house in Moscow. The cost of this book is extremely reasonable too.

Binding issues
Nice collection of pieces. States it has a lay flat binding. Unfortunately, in order for my copy to lay flat, the binding had to break and then the pages started to come out even though they were sewn in.

Misleading
This book does not have all the selections noted. It only goes through Op 8 No.9. The remaining Op 8 pieces are not included as well as Op 42, Op 49, Op 56 and Op 65. Also misleading in the description is the fingering. There is none. You'd be better off downloading from the internet. Save your $$.

Great Collection at Great Price
Dover editions aren't always great, but they do have some that are superb. Their Brahms complete short piano works is one, and this is another. My one complaint is the binding, which makes it difficult to keep the book open, but everything else is great. This is a sure buy for any late intermediate to advanced pianist.

Wonderful music!
I purchased this volume so that I could see what Yuja Wang was playing in her YouTube performance of five Scriabin pieces. Four of the five are included in this collection. Yuja is one of the best Scriabin interpreters in the world, especially in her rendition of the Prelude, Opus 11 #11. What a heavenly performance! Although I don't like Scriabin's late music, his early compositions(such as those Yuja plays on YouTube) possess incomparable beauty. May his music always remain in print!

Magnificient works in a magnificient edition
This is the only edition I've found with all the Scriabin's etudes (there is the Zen-on edition on musicroom.com too, but we have to wait a lot if we want to get them). The price is very cheap for this quality. It is quite easy to read and there is some critical commentaries. If you mant more informations (advice of execution, etc...), buy Peter's edition. the Sciabin's preludes are not so difficult, originally, and very beautiful. The most etudes are very difficult and theatrical. For me, there is incredibly beautiful Sciabin etudes, but they are sometimes disppointing too. There is no fingering, but I think each pianist has to look for the good fingering. The book is a little difficult to stay in place, but it not really a problem because the Scriabin works are short, so we do not turn the pages a lot. The front cover is very beautiful and represents for me Scriabin's music in picture.
