Who knows, when the melodies and chords in this collection are played, the 'Hills of the Old Volcanoes', the 'Fairytale City', the 'Summer Mountain Lake', may emerge from the sound just as they looked when they inspired these pieces - as the sunny hills and plains of the estates of the ancient margraves of Baden, of the hills of the Kaiserstuhl range, as the imposing mountains and the heights of the Black Forest, as the enticingly glittering waters of Lake Constance, the mountain lakes and the Rhine. Often, however, it will be a mighty 'Fortress on the Vine-clad Hilltop', a deeper 'Valley with Blue Mountains', or some quite different picturesque 'Old River' which arises in the mind's eye and takes shape somewhere between outside reality and the depths of an inner world. The 'Brushstrokes' which make up these musical pictures fir in well with the second, wider view. Harmonies and melodies have a familiar association with one of the international musical languages of our times - with jazz. Brightening up sad times and enriching bright, cheerful moments - that is the expressly declared aim of the late-Romantic, impressionistic sounds and memorable melodies in our collection. Wolf Belbl. Vem vet, när melodier och ackord i den här samlingen spelas, de "kullar av den gamla vulkaner", den "Fairytale City", "Summer Mountain Lake", kan dyka upp från ljudet precis som de såg ut när de inspirerade dessa bitar - som de soliga kullar och slätter godsen av de gamla markgrevar av Baden, i bergen i Kaiserstuhl sortimentet, som de imponerande bergen och höjderna i Schwarzwald, som de lockande glittrande vattnet i Bodensjön, fjällsjöarna och Rhen. Ofta kommer det dock att bli en mäktig "Fästning på Vine-klädda kulle", en djupare "Valley med Blue Mountains", eller något helt annat pittoreska "Old River" som uppstår i inre öga och tar form någonstans mellan utanför verklighet och djupet av en inre värld. De "Penseldrag" som bildar dessa musikaliska bilder fir bra in i den andra, bredare syn. Harmonier och melodier har en bekant förening med en av de internationella musikaliska språk i vår tid - med jazz.
